Description

SR670 High Performance Computing Server with Dual 6254 providing 36 cores at 3.1ghz, 256GB RAM, 3 *800GB Solid State Drive (SSD), dual 2000W and 4 * Nvidia T4 16GB

The Lenovo SR670 36 core server features 256GB RAM, four Nvidia T4 16GB GPU accelerators, 3 * 800GB SAS SSDs in RAID5, dual 10GBE and dual 2000W power supplies. This system requires 15A power supply for operation.

The SR670 has been designed specifically for high performance computing, AI workloads and as a host for high performance virtual workstations.


The Nvidia T4 16GB GPU features 2560 CUDA cores, 320 AI-specific Tensor cores and 40 RT cores to accelerate rendering and real-time ray-tracing. It is considered a multi-purpose GPU workhorse for mixed workloads. It has a single-width profile which means that up to 8 T4 GPUs may be installed in the SR670. The T4 also features a low 70W power consumption.

The T4 GPU is recommended for accelerating virtual desktops (VDI), AI and HPC , video transcoding and even rendering. The card can accelerating graphics-intensive virtual workstations and rendering but will also accelerate HPC and Deep learning tasks. It is recommended for FP32, FP16 and Int 8 precisions (not FP64 double precision - use V100)

The T4 is particularly well-suited to virtual desktops applications because of the 8 cards possible in one server. Each card can deliver GPU-accelerated performance for up to 32 users (512mb profiles) . Use the T4 to accelerate business applications (use vAPPs for Win RDP or Virtual PC on both Win and Linux for desktop virtualisation). The T4 may also be used in conjunction with NVidia Virtual Datacentre Workstation (vDWS) to provide larger GPU-accelerated profiles for engineers, architects, designers and CAD users to experience similar or better performance remotely on any device (eg tablet or notebook) to a local professional workstation. For highest performance we recommend use of the RTX6000 and RTX 8000 cards with NVidia Quadro vDWS software.

This system can leverage Nvidia's NGC library with downloadable containers, models and scripts to leverage these GPUs and get your AI initiative yielding results much quicker.


The system can be supplied with VMWare ESXI, Nvidia's vComputeServer and even Docker and containers preloaded.

All SR670 High Performance Computing servers are supplied as special order with a normal leadtime of 4 weeks. This ensures that the latest hardware revisions and firmware is supplied ex-factory.

Alternate processor, storage, RAM and network configurations and some expansions to alternate GPUs and up to 8 * T4 GPUs are available. Please contact us to discuss your specific requirements.
