DL385 high Performance Compute Server with dual EPYC7452 providing 64 cores at 2.3ghz, 512GB RAM, dual 1.6TB SAS SSDs, dual 1600W power and 4 * Nvidia T4 16GB GPUs

This DL385 High Performance Compute Server is optimised for Datacentre use and is also well suited for University use including virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI). The T4 cards provide the most flexible solution for Deep Learning, HPC, Video transcode (VP9 Decode and N.265 playback supported), Virtual Desktops and 3D Rendering. They are not recommended for double precision workloads (FP64). By accelerating diverse workloads they are considered a "universal" GPU perfect for multiple tenants.

This AMD-based server features the latest high performance EPYC processors with 64 cores at 2.3GHZ. The server includes 512GB RAM and dual 1.6TB SAS SSDs with a 12GBPS transfer rate. The dual 1600W power supplies willo support the four NVidia T4 16 GB GPU cards. The server also includes 4 * 1GBE and dual 10GBE network ports.

The four T4 cards in this server configuration has a total of 64GB fast GPU RAM and can therefore support up to 64 1GB user profiles for VDI use.

Each T4 has 2560 CUDA cores, 320 AI-specific tensor cores and 40 RTX cores (Raytracing). With 4 cards preinstalled this system has 10,240 CUDA compute cores, 1,280 AI-specific Tensor cores and 160 ray tracing cores. The low 70W power consumption per card makes this an extremely energy efficient solution.


Many corporate and education users find that the flexibility of the T4 cards enable the system to accelerate different processes at different times of the day. During working hours the system may be used for virtual desktops and other VMs and containers may be spun up outside of these hours to accelerate rendering and AI workloads.

Expandability
RAM is easily expanded to 2TB or 4TB (with LRDIMMs) and the server can be expanded with an additional 8 drive bays (14 bays available / 16 bays total) or M.2 NVME storage. We recommend SAS SSDs. There are connectivity options for Infiniband 100GBE and Omnipath available.

Warranty
This server is covered by a HP Enterprise 3 year warranty with 4 hour response to site 24 * 7.
The Nvidia T4 cards are also covered by a 3 year warranty.
